Assam Releases Draft Electoral Rolls
The Election Commission of India has released the draft electoral rolls for Assam, where assembly elections are coming up.
They have removed the names of 10.56 lakh voters who have died, moved away, or have multiple entries.
There are also 93,021 D-Voters, who are people the government thinks might not be proper citizens.
These D-Voters are still on the list but can't vote.
People can object to the list or add their names until January 22.
The final list will be ready by February 10.
The commission is doing this to make sure the voter list is correct and ready for the elections.
