Mahakalipadpu Railway Underbridge Opening Delayed
The Mahakalipadpu railway underbridge in Mangaluru, which was supposed to make it easier for people to enter the city from Kerala and Ullal, is not open yet.
The bridge was approved a while ago, but there are still some things that need to be fixed before it can be used.
The local leader, U.T. Khader, said they are talking to different people to solve the problems and open the bridge soon.
Right now, people are having a hard time because the main road is very busy, and they want the bridge to open as soon as possible.
Khader also talked about making healthcare better in the area by adding new hospitals.
The Mahakalipadpu railway underbridge, intended to ease congestion in Mangaluru, remains closed despite major works being completed.
U.T. Khader, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker and Mangaluru MLA, assured that discussions will be held to resolve pending issues and open the underbridge soon.
The underbridge is expected to provide direct entry into Mangaluru from Kerala and Ullal, easing traffic on the Pumpwell–Karavali Junction stretch.
Khader acknowledged that certain works are still incomplete and coordination with various authorities, including the police, is required before opening the route to traffic.
The delay has caused inconvenience to commuters, leading to growing public demand for early commissioning of the facility.
