MP Govt Issues Notice to VIT Over Student Violence
In Madhya Pradesh, the government has sent a strong notice to VIT University after students protested and caused damage.
The students were upset because many got sick from bad food and water.
The government says the university is being too strict and not listening to student complaints.
The university has to answer the notice within seven days.
The students had been complaining for a month, and things got worse when security staff allegedly hurt some students.
The police have also taken action against some university staff.
Madhya Pradesh government issued a show cause notice to VIT University over student violence on November 25.
35 students fell ill with jaundice between November 1 and November 24, allegedly due to poor-quality food and water.
The notice accuses VIT administration of dictatorship and threatening students who raise grievances.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed a high-level review of private universities and sent a minister to visit the campus.
Students torched vehicles and vandalized campus facilities during the protest, which escalated after alleged assaults by security personnel.
