Maharashtra Updates Job Reservation in Tribal Districts
The Maharashtra government is updating how it reserves jobs in eight districts with many tribal people.
They're deciding how many jobs go to different groups like Scheduled Castes, Tribes, and others.
This aims to give each group a fair chance, based on how many people from each group live there.
These new rules are for government jobs in Group C and D.
Maharashtra finalized revised reservation policy for Group C and D posts in eight tribal-dominated districts.
The decision followed recommendations from a subcommittee led by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
The districts affected are Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Palghar, Yavatmal, Raigad, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli.
The new reservation rosters consider existing percentages and populations of various communities.
The Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) category has a 10% reservation.
