Romanian Defence Minister Resigns Over Resume Lies

The defence minister of Romania, Ionut Mosteanu, stepped down from his job.

He admitted that he had lied about his education in his resume.

He said he didn't want people to focus on his mistakes and wanted the country to stay safe from Russia.

Romania is near Ukraine and has seen Russian drones and mines in its waters.

The prime minister thanked him for his service, and another minister will take his place temporarily.

The party they both belong to will choose a new defence minister.

Mosteanu had been appointed defence minister in June this year when a new pro-European coalition assumed power after a politically turbulent period.
