Rajasthan SHRC Orders Jaipur Fire-Safety Improvements After Blaze

The order followed a major fire at Sethi Complex in Purohitji Ka Katla on September 17 that gutted several shops.
An inspection found a non-functional fire hydrant, narrow staircases, congested shops and allegedly no fire NOC at the complex.
Officials said no hydrant or water point was available within about 1 to 1.5 kilometres of the site, while water pressure was low during firefighting.
Authorities must report on Jaipur’s fire stations, hydrants, water storage, fire tenders, equipment and action against complexes lacking required fire-safety arrangements.
