Bad weather forces Bengal CM's helicopter back to Siliguri
Suvendu Adhikari planned to visit Kalimpong by helicopter.
The weather in the hills was bad, and visibility was too low for a safe landing.
The helicopter flew around the area for a while before returning to Siliguri.
Adhikari will still attend a meeting at Uttar Kanya.
He may take part in the Kalimpong event through a video connection.
The meeting is about preparing for possible natural disasters.
Officials also prepared a road travel option in case the helicopter could not land.
This was the second time bad weather disrupted one of his helicopter journeys.
Poor weather and low visibility prevented Suvendu Adhikari's helicopter from landing in Kalimpong.
The helicopter circled over the area before returning to Siliguri.
Adhikari is scheduled to attend an administrative meeting at Uttar Kanya.
The meeting will review disaster preparedness and regional response mechanisms.
He may join the Kalimpong programme virtually and was scheduled to distribute welfare benefits.
