Kerala Jails Seized Ganja in Operation Toofan
The Kerala police and prison officials searched four big jails at the same time.
They were looking for drugs that people were hiding inside the prisons.
They found weed in one jail in Thiruvananthapuram.
The search was part of a big plan called Operation Toofan.
The police said they will keep checking other jails soon.
Police and prison departments conducted simultaneous searches at four central jails in Kerala on Thursday night into Friday morning.
The operation, part of the anti‑narcotics campaign “Operation Toofan,” targeted drugs smuggled into prisons.
Ganja was seized from an inmate at Poojappura Central Jail in Thiruvananthapuram.
The searches were carried out at Poojappura Central Jail, Viyyur Central Jail, Tavanur Central Jail, and Kannur Central Jail.
