Wall Street Rallies on Chip Stocks and Microsoft Surge
Wall Street’s big stock indexes jumped after a big drop the day before.
The biggest help came from chip makers like AMD, Intel, and Micron, which all went up a lot.
Microsoft also did very well, adding a huge amount of value to its shares.
Because of this, some software companies like Salesforce and Adobe had to sell a bit of their shares, so they went down a little.
Even though the economy was a bit slower than expected, the market still felt good because of the strong tech results.
Dow Jones gained over 600 points, recouping more than half of Wednesday’s 1,100‑point fall.
Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 rose 2.7% and 1.7% respectively, with Nasdaq 100 surging nearly 3.5%.
Chip stocks led the rally, with AMD, Intel, Micron, SK Hynix, and SanDisk posting double‑digit gains; Nvidia rose 2.5%.
Microsoft’s 15% jump added $450 billion to its market cap, the largest single‑day increase in history.
Software names such as Salesforce, Adobe, Accenture, Cognizant, and Infosys fell 4–6% as investors rebalanced after the chip rally.
