Japan Introduces Walk-in Cooling Booths
Japan has created a special cooling booth for people to use when it's very hot.
This booth, called the Do Hiemon Box, is like a small refrigerator that you can walk into.
It blows cool air on your head, neck, shoulders, and back to make you feel cooler.
It's mainly for workers who have to work in very hot places like construction sites or factories.
The booth can cool you down in just a few minutes and turns off automatically after 20 minutes to make sure you don't get too cold.
It uses less electricity than a regular air conditioner and doesn't need any special installation.
The company that made it thinks that if summers keep getting hotter, these booths might become common in public places too.
Japan's Do Hiemon Box is a walk-in cooling booth designed to rapidly cool people in high-temperature work environments.
The booth maintains an internal temperature of 15°C and directs chilled air at 5°C towards key body areas.
It is primarily aimed at construction sites, factories, and outdoor events where workers endure elevated temperatures.
The booth features three cooling modes, automatic shut-off after 20 minutes, and uses half the electricity of a spot air conditioner.
Costing 1.5 million yen (approx. $10,350), it is currently intended for business use but may become available in public spaces if summers continue to intensify.
