Maoist Leader Disowns Devji as General Secretary
A former Maoist leader named Ramdher, who recently surrendered, said he doesn't know about a man named Devji being appointed as the new leader of the Maoist group CPI (Maoist).
Ramdher explained that important decisions like this are usually made by a meeting of top leaders, and that hasn't happened since the previous leader, Basavaraju, was killed.
Another former leader, Rupesh, also said he didn't know about Devji's appointment.
Meanwhile, a high-ranking Maoist leader, Hidma Madvi, was recently killed in a jungle in Andhra Pradesh.
Ramdher, a former Maoist Central Committee Member, surrendered in Chhattisgarh and questioned the appointment of Devji as general secretary of CPI (Maoist).
Ramdher stated that the relevant bodies of the Maoists have not met since August to ratify such an appointment.
Basavaraju, the previous general secretary, was killed in May 2023, and no successor has been officially chosen.
Another ex-Maoist leader, Rupesh, also disowned Devji's appointment, stating that the relevant bodies have not met to choose a successor.
