Delhi Unveils South Asia's Largest Battery to Boost Power Supply
Imagine a giant battery for Delhi!
It's like a big rechargeable power bank that can store electricity.
This new battery, the biggest in South Asia, can power over a lakh people in south Delhi.
It stores energy from the grid, which helps to ensure that there is a reliable power supply.
The battery can provide power for up to four hours daily, making sure homes and businesses have electricity during both day and night.
It is located in Kilokari and uses safe and durable technology.
This is a big step towards improving power supply, making sure there's enough electricity even when the demand is high.
The government plans to use this technology in other areas too.
Delhi inaugurated South Asia's largest 20-MW battery energy storage system (BESS).
The BESS is located in Kilokari, South Delhi, and will benefit over 1 lakh residents.
It uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology and provides up to 4 hours of reliable power.
The project aims to improve power supply, enhance grid stability, and optimize costs.
The government plans to expand this technology in other areas.
