Maruti Suzuki Reaches One Million In-Plant Rail Vehicle Dispatches

Maruti Suzuki makes cars and sends them to customers and dealerships around India.

The company has built special railway terminals inside two of its factories.

These terminals let finished cars move directly onto freight trains.

One terminal is in Hansalpur, Gujarat, and the other is in Manesar, Haryana.

Together, they have carried about one million vehicles since 2023.

The Gujarat terminal carried about 790,000 vehicles, and the Manesar terminal carried about 210,000.

Maruti says trains can reduce truck use, fuel consumption, emissions, and traffic on roads.

The company wants trains to carry 35% of its dispatched vehicles by FY 2030-31.
