Raj Bhavans Renamed Lok Bhavans for Public Service
The government of India has decided to change the names of Raj Bhavans, which are the official residences of Governors, to Lok Bhavans.
This change is part of a larger effort to show that the government is focused on serving the people.
The idea is to remind everyone that the government's job is to help citizens, not to have power.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has been leading this change, and other places like the Prime Minister's residence and important roads have also been renamed to show this new focus.
The government believes that changing names can also change how people think about their roles and responsibilities.
Raj Bhavans, the official residences of Governors, are being renamed to Lok Bhavans.
The change is part of the government's focus on public service and citizen-first governance.
The decision was announced on social media by Governors in states like Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Tripura, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
The Prime Minister's residence and other important places have also been renamed to reflect this new focus.
The government believes that changing names can help change mindsets towards service and duty.
