Leaders Stress Shedding Colonial Mindset
PM Modi and Piyush Goyal both spoke about how India needs to let go of old ideas from the colonial times.
PM Modi talked about a term called 'Hindu rate of growth' which was used to describe slow economic growth and said it was unfair to link it to people's faith.
Piyush Goyal spoke at a big graduation ceremony at Amity University.
He congratulated the nearly 29,000 students who graduated and praised the university for giving many chances to students, especially those who are good at things but might not have a lot of money.
He also talked about how the university has many smart women students and has helped students get over 450 special ideas called patents.
He reminded the students that they have important jobs to do for their families, their communities, and their country.
Both leaders said that the next few years are very important for India to become a strong and developed country.
PM Modi criticized the term 'Hindu rate of growth' as a product of colonial mindset linking India's slow economic growth to its people's faith and identity.
Piyush Goyal emphasized the need to shed the colonial mindset in education to foster India's progress during Amity University's convocation.
Goyal congratulated nearly 29,000 graduating students, including online and on-campus learners, and praised the university's merit-based scholarships and strong innovation culture with over 450 student patents.
Goyal noted that half of the student population comprises young women and 50 faculty members are Ramalingam Swami Fellows.
