Hegseth: U.S. Won't Leave Indo-Pacific Alone Against China

The U.S. is concerned about China's growing military power and influence in the Indo-Pacific region, especially regarding Taiwan.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth spoke in Singapore, warning that conflict over Taiwan could be imminent because China is training for an invasion.

The U.S. plans to strengthen its military presence and missile defense in the region.

Hegseth also discussed China's growing influence in Latin America.

He urged countries in the region to increase defense spending and to not rely on China economically.

The U.S. is open to working with both allies and non-allies to counter China's influence.
