J&K Man Dies After Self-Immolation Post-Terror Probe Questioning
A man named Bilal, who sold dry fruits in Kashmir, sadly passed away after setting himself on fire.
He had been questioned by the police as part of an investigation into a terror group.
Bilal was released the same day, but his son was kept by the police and later arrested by a special agency.
Bilal was reportedly very upset about his son being held.
A doctor, who was a neighbor of Bilal's family, is also accused in the same terror case.
Some politicians are worried that people are being arrested just because they are neighbors or friends with suspected individuals, which they feel could be unfair if the person is innocent.
Bilal Ahmad Wani, a 55-year-old dry fruit seller from Qazigund, Jammu and Kashmir, died after setting himself on fire.
Wani self-immolated on Sunday after being questioned in a terror module investigation and died on Monday from his injuries.
He was questioned along with his son, Jasir Wani, in connection with a 'white-collar' terror module; Jasir was later arrested by the NIA.
Wani was a neighbor of Dr. Adeel Rather, a medical practitioner arrested for alleged involvement in the same terror module.
Political figures have raised concerns about detentions based on association, suggesting potential injustice if individuals like Wani are innocent.
