Punjab Launches AI Career Guidance in Schools
The Punjab Government has started a new program to help students in government schools make better career choices.
They have set up special labs with artificial intelligence (AI) that can give students personalized advice about their future careers.
The program is currently in 25 schools and is free for all students.
The AI will ask students questions to understand their interests and strengths, then create a report with career suggestions.
Professional counselors will then talk to the students and their parents to help them make a plan.
This program is special because it is usually only available in private schools.
The government wants to make sure that every student, no matter their background, can get good career advice.
Punjab Government launched AI-driven career guidance labs in 25 government and PSEB-affiliated schools.
The initiative is implemented in collaboration with ed-tech partner Beyond Mentor and is free for students.
Students will undergo AI-based aptitude and interest assessments to receive personalized career reports.
Professional counselors will conduct one-to-one sessions with students and their parents to discuss the reports and create actionable plans.
The pilot phase will be monitored for impact and student outcomes, with plans for phased expansion across Punjab.
