Uttarakhand Sees Marriage Registration Surge After UCC Implementation
Uttarakhand has a new law called the Uniform Civil Code, and it's making a big difference in how people register their marriages.
Before the new law, only a few people registered their marriages each day.
But now, many more people are registering their marriages, with about 1,634 registrations happening daily since the new law started.
The government also made it easier by giving people more time to register.
The Chief Minister is happy about this because he thinks it helps make society stronger, especially for women.
Marriage registrations in Uttarakhand have significantly increased since the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
The average daily marriage registrations jumped to 1,634 under the UCC, starting January 27.
This is a substantial increase compared to the previous average of 67 registrations per day.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the law's significance and its positive impact on society.
