The Karnataka State Cabinet has approved the creation of a new biodiversity park in Bengaluru, called the Vishwa Guru Basavanna Biodiversity Park.

It will be built on a 153-acre plot near Yelahanka and will include various thematic zones like a medicinal plant grove, a bird sanctuary named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and a mini-zoo in honor of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.
The government has allocated Rs 50 crore for this project, which is expected to be completed in three years.
