Thane MACT Awards ₹31 Lakh Compensation for Carpenter's Death After Accident
A man named Manojkumar was walking when a car hit him.
He got very hurt and was in the hospital and bedridden for two years.
Sadly, he passed away.
His family went to a special court that handles accidents, called MACT.
The court decided that the car driver was at fault because he parked the car carelessly on a hill.
Because of this, the court ordered the car driver and his insurance company to give Manojkumar's family a lot of money, over 31 lakh rupees.
This money is to help his wife and two children because he can no longer take care of them.
Thane MACT awarded ₹31,05,235 to the family of Manojkumar Sharma, who died two years after a road accident.
Sharma suffered severe injuries in the accident on August 14, 2018, and remained bedridden until his death on December 24, 2020.
The tribunal found the driver, Prasanna Humane, negligent for improperly parking the vehicle on a slope.
The compensation will be divided equally among Sharma's wife and his two minor children.
The court rejected the defence's claim of a technical defect, attributing the accident solely to the driver's negligence.
