Dogs Vanish from Symbiosis Campus, Students Seek Answers
Students at a college in Hyderabad woke up to find that many street dogs that lived on and around their campus were missing.
They are worried and want to know where the dogs went.
The students say the dogs were friendly and well-cared for, and they don't understand why they were taken away without any warning.
They asked a group that helps animals, called AASRA, for help.
The school says they followed some rules, but they won't say where the dogs are now.
The students and the animal helpers are upset and want to know what happened to the dogs.
37 dogs, including puppies, have gone missing from the Symbiosis International Institute campus and its surroundings in Hyderabad.
Students and the NGO AASRA are seeking information on the dogs' whereabouts and allege violent handling during their removal.
The GHMC denied involvement in the dog-catching activity, and the gram panchayat directed the students to the GHMC.
Students claim the dogs were sterilized, vaccinated, and non-aggressive, and they had conducted adoption drives for them.
The university official mentioned a letter was written to the gram panchayat to clear the dogs, citing UGC rules and a Supreme Court order, but did not disclose the dogs' location.
