Protests Erupt Over Tamil Men's Deaths in Karnataka Forest Firing

On August 15, three men from Tamil Nadu were shot and killed in a forest in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Forest Department said the men were poachers.

Many people do not believe this claim.

Two big political parties in Tamil Nadu, the DMK and the PMK, are asking for a full and fair investigation.

The DMK's leader, M K Stalin, wants the forest officers to be charged with murder.

The PMK's leader, Anbumani Ramadoss, says the poaching story is false.

He wants a special central agency to investigate and compensation of Rs 1 crore for each family.

Families and villagers protested in Chamarajanagar and Mysuru to demand justice.

The police have filed a case against the forest officials under a law that deals with murder.

An official inquiry is now underway.
