Bombay HC Upholds JBIMS Admission Cancellations Over Forged Documents
The Bombay High Court looked at the admissions of three students at JBIMS.
The court found that their academic documents did not match their actual university records.
The students had already completed much of their course.
At least one student had also secured a job placement.
The court said these facts did not make the admissions fair or valid.
It upheld the institute’s decision to cancel the admissions.
The court also said officials involved in checking the documents must be investigated.
This was because keeping admissions fair requires examining both students and the institution’s process.
The Bombay High Court upheld the cancellation of three JBIMS admissions after discrepancies were found in their academic documents.
The students had been admitted to the two-year Master of Management Studies course under the CIWGC category.
The court said completing most of the course, taking final exams or securing placement could not outweigh fairness in admissions.
It held that advantages gained through materially false academic credentials do not become enforceable rights with time.
The court also ordered scrutiny of possible negligence, collusion and irregular approvals involving admission officials and intermediaries.
