AAP Wins Punjab Rural Polls
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won a lot of seats in the recent rural local body elections in Punjab.
The Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) also won some seats, but not as many as AAP.
The BJP and BSP won a few seats, and some independents also won.
The AAP says this is a big win for them, but the Congress and SAD say the elections weren't fair.
The SAD is happy because they did well in the Malwa region, which is important for them.
The BJP didn't do very well, but they are still focusing on the next big elections in 2027.
Some people think the SAD and BJP might work together in the future, but the SAD says they are not thinking about that right now.
The SAD also claims that the AAP unfairly rejected many of their nomination papers.
AAP won 218 zila parishads and 1,531 panchayat samitis in Punjab's rural local body polls.
Congress finished as the runner-up with 62 zila parishads and 612 panchayat samitis.
SAD won 46 zila parishads and 445 panchayat samitis, showing a comeback in the Malwa region.
BJP won 7 zila parishads and 73 panchayat samitis, with mixed results in different areas.
BSP and Independents won 3 and 10 zila parishads respectively, along with some panchayat samitis.
