India's Sustainable Packaging Market to Hit $268B by 2031
The Indian Institute of Packaging says that the market for eco-friendly packaging in India will grow a lot by 2031.
It will be worth $268 billion, which is more than double what it is now.
This growth is happening because more people care about the environment, the government is banning single-use plastics, and many industries need sustainable packaging.
Companies are also working on new materials and ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
The IIP recently held a meeting with school leaders to talk about the importance of packaging education and careers in this field.
India's sustainable packaging market projected to reach $268 billion by 2031, up from $145 billion in 2025.
Growth driven by environmental awareness, government bans on single-use plastics, and demand from FMCG, food & beverage, and e-commerce sectors.
Packaging producers are investing in new materials, redesigning supply chains, and aligning with carbon-neutral goals.
Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) organized a Principals' Conclave to promote packaging education and sustainability awareness.
21 principals and representatives from leading schools in the NCR region participated in the event.
