India's 2025 New Year's Eve Food Trends
On New Year's Eve 2025, Indians ordered a lot of food through apps like Zomato, Swiggy, and magicpin.
Biryani was the most popular dish, with over 2 lakh orders by 7:30 PM.
Pizzas and burgers were also very popular, with almost the same number of orders.
People also ordered a lot of desserts like rasmalai and gajar halwa.
Some people ordered very big amounts, like 16 kilos of biryani.
Despite some delivery workers going on strike, the companies delivered over 75 lakh orders with the help of 4.5 lakh delivery partners.
The companies also increased pay for delivery workers during this time.
Biryani was the most ordered dish with 2,18,993 orders by 7:30 PM, averaging 1,336 orders per minute.
Pizzas and burgers were closely contested, with 2,18,000 pizzas and 2,16,000 burgers ordered by 8:30 PM.
Desserts like rasmalai, gajar halwa, and gulab jamun were popular, especially around 10:30 PM.
Zomato and Blinkit delivered over 75 lakh orders on New Year's Eve despite gig workers' strike calls.
Delivery partners received higher payouts ranging from ₹120 to ₹150 per order during peak hours.
