Delhi Offers 10-Year Tax Waiver for Scrapping Old Commercial Vehicles
The Delhi government has approved a new scheme called PARIVARTAN.
This scheme helps owners of old trucks, buses, and goods carriers.
If they scrap their old vehicles and buy new electric or BS-VI vehicles, they can get a 10-year tax waiver.
They also get other benefits like a discount on the new vehicle and help with loan interest.
The scheme aims to reduce pollution in Delhi.
Owners can apply through a special online portal.
The benefits might be different if the vehicle is registered in Haryana or Uttar Pradesh instead of Delhi.
Delhi Cabinet approves PARIVARTAN scheme for replacing old commercial vehicles with electric or BS-VI ones.
Owners of old light goods vehicles (LGVs) can get a 10-year tax exemption, registration fee waiver, and other benefits if they scrap their vehicle and buy a new electric LGV.
Medium and heavy goods vehicle owners can also receive similar benefits for scrapping and replacing their vehicles.
Old buses can be replaced with BS-VI CNG or electric buses to receive benefits similar to those for medium and heavy goods vehicles.
The scheme operates through a dedicated digital portal, with specific concessions provided by the state where the vehicle is registered.
