India Says Bangladesh Engagement Will Remain Positive and Forward-Looking

India says it wants to keep working with Bangladesh in a friendly and practical way.

It says cooperation should help people in both countries.

Indian official Randhir Jaiswal shared this message during a briefing.

Another Indian official, Dinesh Trivedi, spoke about former Bangladesh leader Sheikh Hasina coming to New Delhi.

He said her arrival was unexpected and that India’s military did not arrange her flight.

Trivedi said India accepted the situation as a neighboring country.

He also said legal systems were looking at matters between the two countries.

Bangladesh has asked India to extradite Hasina, including through a request made in December 2024.
