Five tribal girls rescued in Hyderabad as prime accused arrested

Odisha Police said five minor tribal girls were rescued from Hyderabad.

The girls were from economically disadvantaged tribal communities in Odisha.

A local village leader reported that several girls may have been trafficked.

Police investigated and searched several places in Hyderabad.

They arrested Rajkumar Bastray, whom they identified as the prime accused.

Police said the girls’ Aadhaar details were allegedly changed to make them appear older.

Officers are looking for other people who may have been involved.

They said the girls’ health, safety, education and rehabilitation are priorities.
