Hyderabad Protesters Demand SIR Rollback and Election Chief’s Resignation

More than 300 people gathered in Hyderabad to protest changes to voter lists.

They said some people’s names may have been removed unfairly.

The protesters want the voter-list revision process stopped and want Election Chief Gyanesh Kumar to resign.

They also criticized a government computer system used in the process.

The protest was led by a new group called the Telangana People’s Front.

The group says it wants to become a political party and offer solutions to public problems.

The article says more than 73 lakh people in Telangana received notices during the revision.

The Election Commission has also ordered a drive to enrol voters who were left out and a review of its online system.
