Jindal Steel Commissions Furnace at Angul Plant
Jindal Steel, a big company, has installed a new machine called a basic oxygen furnace (BoF) at its factory in Angul, India.
This machine helps make more steel by turning melted iron into steel using oxygen.
The new machine adds the ability to make 3 million tons of steel each year.
The company is spending a lot of money to make the factory even bigger, aiming to produce 12 million tons of steel annually.
The chairman of Jindal Steel, Naveen Jindal, announced that the new machine is running well and the first batch of steel was successfully made.
This expansion makes the Angul plant one of the largest steel-making factories in the country.

The new BoF has a capacity of 3 million tons of steel per annum (MTPA).
