Satyendar Jain Sent to Custody in Delhi Sewage Tender Case

Satyendar Jain and five other people were arrested in a case about sewage-treatment plant contracts in Delhi.

Investigators say the rules for the contracts may have been changed to help a company win.

They allege that contracts included money for making plants bigger even when only upgrades were planned.

The Anti-Corruption Branch says it found about Rs 16 crore moving through cash and bank accounts.

It also alleges that former Delhi Jal Board chief Udit Prakash Rai received about Rs 1.52 crore.

Investigators seized phones and laptops and are examining them for messages and documents.

The case began with a complaint and an FIR was registered in 2024.

An Enforcement Directorate chargesheet was filed in 2025 against Jain and 13 others.

A court later sent Jain and the other accused to judicial custody, while Jain said the case was politically motivated.
