Kharge accuses Modi govt of weakening Constitution, social justice policies
Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress party, said the Modi government is making the Constitution weaker.
He believes the government is not doing enough to help Dalits, who are a group of people in India who have faced a lot of discrimination.
Kharge said that past Congress governments made laws to protect Dalits and help them get better education and jobs.
He mentioned things like scholarships, hostels for Dalit students, and reservations in important schools and colleges.
But now, he says the Modi government is doing the opposite.
They are making it harder for Dalits to get jobs and are not protecting them from discrimination.
Kharge also said the government is promoting ideas that justify discrimination, which he calls 'Manuvadi' mentality.
He promised that the Congress party will not let this happen.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Modi government of weakening the Constitution and reversing social justice policies.
He claimed the BJP government has weakened reservations and does not promote equality, instead justifying discrimination.
Kharge highlighted past Congress initiatives like the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
He mentioned education policies such as Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, Pre-Matric Scholarship, and reservations in IITs, IIMs, and medical colleges.
Kharge accused the Modi government of promoting 'Manuvadi' mentality and suppressing Dalit voices in issues like Rohith Vemula and Bhima-Koregaon.
