Delhi Maintains Heavy Security as CJP Continues Protest

Delhi kept extra security in place as a political party said it would continue its protest.

More than 30,000 police and paramilitary personnel were expected to be deployed on Sunday.

The protest was against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

On Saturday, police detained many demonstrators to stop them from reaching Jantar Mantar.

The proposed gathering there had not been given permission.

More than 120 companies of Central Armed Police Forces were helping Delhi Police.

Officers also increased checks at borders, transport stations and places where people stay.

Police asked people to remain peaceful and advised commuters to check official announcements.
