Virtusa Foundation Restores Ranglal Kunta Lake for Community and Environment
Imagine a park pond that was dirty and dry, with garbage and bad water flowing into it.
A company called Virtusa, with help from city officials and another group, decided to fix it.
They spent a long time cleaning out all the dirt and changing where the bad water went.
Now, the pond is clean and full of water again, like it should be.
They also built nice paths, planted trees, and added places for people to sit.
Lots of birds and bugs have come back because the nature there is healthy again.
This makes it a nice place for people to relax and enjoy nature, and it's good for the environment too.
Virtusa Foundation has restored Ranglal Kunta Lake in Hyderabad's Financial District.
The restoration project, lasting two and a half years, transformed a dry, sewage-polluted lake into a healthy water body.
The lake now has a water-holding capacity of 24 million litres and supports diverse native flora and fauna.
Improvements include desilting, deepening, bio-remediation systems, a pedestrian walkway, green zones, and seating areas.
The project, a collaboration with GHMC and United Way of Hyderabad, aims to enhance community well-being and create a sustainable urban ecosystem.
