Uttarakhand Chamoli Flash Flood Washes Away Bailey Bridge, Camper Swept

A flash flood is a sudden rush of water that happens very quickly.

In a place called Chamoli in Uttarakhand, India, a big flood swept away a bridge over a stream.

The bridge was called a Bailey Bridge and it was on a road named Jyotirmath-Malari.

Sadly, one person in a camper is reported to have been swept away by the strong water.

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, asked his teams to help people right away.

Rescue teams were sent to the spot to help anyone in danger.

People living near rivers and streams were told to move to safer places.

The road to Malari was closed so nobody would be in danger.

Officials are watching the area day and night until things get back to normal.

They are also making sure food, medicine, and other essentials still reach nearby villages.
