Delhi Rains Cool City, Improve Air Quality to Satisfactory
Delhi got a nice shower of rain!
This made the city cooler and made the air cleaner.
The temperature went down quite a bit, and the air quality got better, moving into the 'satisfactory' level.
This means the air is now healthier to breathe.
Scientists keep track of the air by measuring pollution, and they saw a big improvement thanks to the rain.
Even though it rained a lot, the main type of pollution, called PM10, was still present.
Overall, the rain brought some welcome relief from the heat and made the air better.
Light and prolonged rainfall brought relief to Delhi.
Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8°C, nearly 4 degrees below normal.
The minimum temperature at Safdarjung was 25.6°C, almost 2°C below normal.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) improved to 'satisfactory' levels.
PM10 remained the dominant pollutant across monitoring stations.
