Delhi's Connaught Place Shuts Early Amid Protests

Delhi's Connaught Place Shuts Early Amid Protests

Shops, restaurants, and offices in Connaught Place, a busy area in New Delhi, were told to close early at 6:30 PM on July 23, 2026.

This decision was made by the New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) because of protests happening nearby.

The protests are led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), who are upset about a recent exam leak and want the Education Minister to step down.

The NDTA said they were following advice from city officials to keep everyone safe.

However, a leader from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the decision, saying it might lead to harsh actions against the protesters.
