Gaza ceasefire talks at critical moment
The Qatari Prime Minister said that talks about stopping the war in Gaza are at a very important stage.
He was speaking at a big meeting in Qatar called the Doha Forum.
People are working hard to make the next part of the ceasefire happen.
The talks are very important because they could help bring peace to the area.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also spoke and said that before Hamas gives up its weapons, there should be a proper Palestinian government and police force in place.
He thinks this is more realistic than expecting Hamas to disarm right away.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani stated that Gaza ceasefire negotiations are at a critical moment.
The statement was made during a panel at the Doha Forum conference in Qatar.
Mediators are working to advance the next phase of the ceasefire.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan suggested that a credible Palestinian civil administration and a vetted, trained police force should be in place before Hamas disarmament.
Fidan stated that expecting Hamas to disarm in the first phase of the ceasefire deal is neither realistic nor doable without initial steps.
