BJP accuses Jharkhand of reducing SC reservation
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand has accused the state government of reducing the number of seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) in urban local body elections.
This means that there will be fewer opportunities for Dalits to be represented in civic institutions.
The BJP leader, Amar Kumar Bauri, said that the government is not doing enough to help the SC community, which is about 50 lakh people in Jharkhand.
He mentioned that important demands, like supporting SC students studying abroad, have not been met.
He also said that the way reservations are being decided is not fair and that different rules are being applied in different places.
The BJP wants the government to be more transparent and to set up important bodies like the SC Commission and Women’s Commission.
BJP alleges Jharkhand government reduced SC reservation in urban local body elections.
Former Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri criticizes government for not addressing SC community concerns.
Bauri claims SC population of nearly 50 lakh in Jharkhand is not adequately covered by welfare schemes.
Allegations include anomalies in reservation implementation and unequal treatment of SC community.
BJP demands transparency in municipal elections and constitution of statutory bodies.
