Telangana High Court Questions Inaction in Infant Trafficking Cases

Telangana High Court Questions Inaction in Infant Trafficking Cases

The Telangana High Court is worried that babies may have been bought and sold for illegal adoptions.

Police rescued nine children in Suryapet.

The children were placed with a child welfare committee for protection.

They were moved temporarily to Nalgonda because Suryapet did not have a protective home.

The court said police had not yet found the biological parents of any of the children.

It questioned why government workers had not helped locate their families.

The court also questioned whether adoption records were uploaded too early.

It said children should be considered for adoption only after checking whether a biological or foster family can care for them.
