Chief Librarian's Registrar Charge Extended Amid University Crisis
Imagine a school where the principal and the person in charge of keeping the books are both gone.
To help out, the person who runs the library was filling in, but their time was up.
The government said they should keep helping out as the second-in-command, and that other important people can keep their roles as well.
This happened because the person in charge, the vice-chancellor, was removed a while ago, so the government needs someone to fill the role.
They are hoping that the school will return to normal soon.
Biswajit Das, the chief librarian, has had his role as registrar at Gour Banga University extended.
The extension was ordered by the state higher education department.
Das's initial term as registrar ended on September 22.
The university has been without a Vice-Chancellor for almost a month.
