Amit Shah Says Hindi Must Advance With Other Indian Languages

Amit Shah spoke on Hindi Diwas about India’s many languages.

He said having many languages is a strength, not a weakness.

He explained that languages carry people’s history, traditions and culture.

He said Hindi can help people from different parts of India communicate.

However, he said Hindi should grow without harming or ignoring other Indian languages.

Shah also said his mother tongue is Gujarati, while Hindi helps him speak with people across the country.

He encouraged children to learn from the world but stay connected to their own language.

Hindi Diwas is observed on September 14 because Hindi was adopted as an official language on that date in 1949.
