Jagannath Temple Announces Ratna Bhandar Inventory on Two Dates
Ratna Bhandar is the treasury of the Jagannath Temple.
Temple authorities said they will check and record its valuables on August 31 and September 1.
They chose these dates so regular worship and visitors are not disturbed.
The temple will follow rules made by the Odisha government.
Officials will photograph and video the valuables.
They will also create 3D maps of them.
Gem experts, goldsmiths and RBI officials are helping with the work.
The inventory is meant to document and verify the items, not determine how much they are worth.
The Ratna Bhandar inventory will be conducted on August 31 and September 1.
The previous inventory took place on July 19 while the deities were at Shree Gundicha Temple.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee said the dates were chosen to avoid disrupting rituals and devotees.
The process will follow Odisha government standard operating procedures and include photography, videography and 3D mapping.
The exercise began on March 25, 2025, after a 48-year gap, and documents items without assigning monetary values.
