Mourinho Reveals He Rejected Chance To Replace Sir Alex Ferguson

José Mourinho is a very famous football manager.

Before he came to Manchester United, he was offered the chance to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

He turned that chance down.

He later explained why, saying: 'After RM, I needed to feel loved.'

A few years later, he did join Manchester United.

He became their head coach in 2016.

He stayed at the club for two and a half years.

In his first season, he won two trophies, the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, only Erik ten Hag has won as much silverware.

Today, the two coaches are the joint-most successful Manchester United managers since Ferguson.
