India Plans New Blueprint to Boost Farm Exports
India is trying to sell more food to other countries!
They want to earn more money by exporting things like rice, bananas, and special snacks called makhana.
To do this, the government has asked some experts to make a plan.
They'll study how the food gets from the farm to other countries and find out what can be improved.
Even though India grows most of the world's makhana, they don't sell much of it outside the country.
The new plan hopes to change that and make selling food easier and more profitable, targeting markets in places like Europe and the US.
India is creating a new plan to boost agricultural exports, aiming for $51.91 billion in FY25.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda) commissioned Icrier and Crisil.
The project will analyze the value chain of 32 high-potential food products and recommend export strategies.
Focus commodities include rice, fruits like mango and banana, and processed foods like makhana.
India produces 90% of the world's makhana, but exports only 1-2% of its makhana produce.
