India Probes Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi Over Financial Irregularities
Imagine some big phone companies in India, like Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi.
The government suspects they might have moved a lot of money, about 6,000 crore rupees, to the wrong places.
This is like they sent money somewhere they shouldn't have.
The government is now checking their financial records to see if they broke any rules or didn't pay their taxes correctly.
If they find something wrong, the companies could face legal trouble.
Indian authorities are investigating Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi over alleged fund diversions.
The probe, led by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), concerns approximately Rs 6,000 crore.
The investigation was initiated in March 2025, and may take about a year to complete.
The Registrar of Companies (ROC) reported accusations of tax evasion and financial irregularities.
The SFIO will submit its findings to the ministry, which could lead to legal action.
