44 local body members in Nanded disqualified for poll expenses

In Nanded district of Maharashtra, India, some people ran in local town elections.

After elections, everyone who runs has to show how much money they spent.

This is called an election expense report.

Forty-four people did not send their reports on time.

So the government said they cannot be town leaders for three years.

The government used a law from 1965 to make this decision.

The decision was made on July 27, 2026.

Their names were printed in an official government book on August 5, 2026.

The rule helps make sure elections are fair and honest.
