HC Directs Police to Trace Missing Elderly from Delhi
Three elderly people from Delhi went missing from their home on December 13, 2025.
Their daughter found the house ransacked and reported the incident to the police.
She also received threatening calls from her ex-husband, who claimed responsibility for the abduction.
Despite multiple complaints, the police did not register an FIR.
The daughter then approached the Delhi High Court, which directed the police to find the missing individuals.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for January 13, 2026.
Three elderly individuals, Mihir Kumar Dasgupta (70), Anindita Dasgupta (60), and Sameer Dasgupta (75), went missing from their residence in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, on December 13, 2025.
Their daughter, Ondrilla Dasgupta, found the house ransacked and lodged a complaint at the Kishangarh police station, which was entered as a daily diary.
Dasgupta alleged receiving threatening calls from her ex-husband, Shayak Sen, who claimed responsibility for the abduction and warned against pursuing the matter with the police.
Despite multiple complaints and visits to the police station, no FIR was registered, leading Dasgupta to approach the Delhi High Court with a writ of habeas corpus.
The Delhi High Court directed the police to immediately trace the missing individuals and scheduled the next hearing for January 13, 2026.
